The Big picnic 2024

Over the weekend we hosted the Big Picnic event and it proved to be a huge success!

The local community, visitors from further afield were able to enjoy a wide range of activities and the organisations that took part provided us with information about services in the area, the musicians and artists on the stage entertained a growing audience with music, dancing, and laughter. We were also fortunate to have a day of sunshine and free refreshments for all.

Around 1300 people attended the event and our wonderful volunteers made the day’s festivities possible. We value and treasure the experience of being able to bring the community together, to see everyone with smiles and having the opportunity to gather under a common aim of goodwill and celebration.

We would like to thank all those who were involved, especially St Paul’s Church for allowing the use of the church grounds, our fabulous volunteers; without whom none of this would be at all possible, the organisations who took the time to provide such wonderful activities for everyone, Bae of Colwyn Town Council for their backing and Gwynt y Môr Community Fund, for helping to keep everyone fed with free food over the course of the day.

The events we hold in the community are only possible with the support of our volunteers and the financial backing of community grants. Volunteering can help people to gain qualifications, skills and experience that can prove fruitful in a number of ways.
