The new beach toy library on Colwyn Bay promanade

Following the trend and growing tradition with coastal towns across the country, Colwyn Bay now has a Beach Toy Library.

Over the past few months, after a local resident suggested the idea, a number of members from Together For Colwyn Bay have been researching and making contacts to bring the idea to life.

We’ve worked with Plasticowood, based in Bodelwyddan, to produce a hard wearing box that will withstand the conditions on the prom.

Make it stand out

The new library is located between Porth Eirias and The Victorian Pier and is free to use.

The popular slogan of, “Borrow . Play . Return”, is used on Beach Toy Libraries across the country to encourage community spirit and goodwill. We want to promote wellness and inclusion in Colwyn Bay and hope that access to the free use of a bucket and spade will give everyone the same opportunity to dig holes and build imaginative forts.

Please feel free to add to the box if you have any toys that aren’t being loved anymore or if you have too many to carry.

We hope that over the next few weeks of the summer holiday, many people will find enjoyment from the toys here and will encourage others to use this community in the spirit in which it has been created.
